1. The title song, 'Black Cherry', is another standout on the album. The lyrics are as good as the instrumentals. The song 'Twist' is an incredible rush. 'Strict Machine' pulsates with attitude. Again, another incredible song. If our universe had a soundtrack for whatever reason the song 'Forever' would definitely be on it/5().

2. Feb 26,  · After Goldfrapp's avant garde first album, which was a massive hit, they went back to the studio to make the follow up record Black Cherry. If you didn't know it, you would think the albums where from two different artist, Black Cherry is much more dance orientated, and a has much more of a pop sound, and I think it fails/5().

9. Both "Forever" and the title song "Black Cherry" give us a deeper and more direct Goldfrapp, far more affecting than anything on Felt Mountain. She's not hiding out behind lush instrumentals here. The album generally seems to revel in a kind of retro late's decadence: it is straight synthesizer and drum machines from beginning to end, none of those John Barry-esque horns from the first outing/5().
